Text description provided by the architects. Experimental, local and craft as identity resources
Located in a plot between party walls in the city of Babahoyo, province of Los Rios, Ecuador, this is a space for experimental production of architecture and design where the office Natura Futura arquitectura currently operates in conjunction with the visual design lab Urbanofacto. The project to share this space is generated faced with the problem of the city in need of cultural interests; in response to the objective of injecting a reality closer to art.
Its constructive materiality experiences new types of envelopes, using the composition as an exploratory tool with elements of local construction and low budget.
To promote dialogue with the outside, on the ground floor the openings fold entirely, becoming a place of connection and convergence of activities, responding to an objective in its tectonic; to find a balance between dense and lightweight, symmetrical and asymmetrical, raw and polished.
To alternate in a space where one can acquire new references about the adventure that it means to have a more complex vision of the possibilities to conceive the city, supported by the presentation of documentaries, studio work, group discussions, work drawings, urban interventions, alternative proposals.
The Little Workshop opens a new field of reading, of how we conceive a place of presence and reflexive action from learning processes and shared experiences.
